How we research
We do not test equipment. SmartHomeGym is a research site. Every guide and review is labelled research-based and says where its information comes from. If that changes for a particular product, the page will say exactly what was tested, how the product was obtained and what the results were.
Where information comes from
- Manufacturer product pages, manuals and published specification sheets.
- Recognised standards bodies and public-health or fitness authorities for general guidance.
- Retailer listings, only to confirm that a product exists and is sold in the UK, and for an indicative price.
Each article lists its sources at the bottom. We do not cite competing affiliate sites or unsourced blogs.
Specifications
A specification (weight capacity, dimensions, resistance range) appears only when we have a source for it. Where a manufacturer does not publish a figure we describe the point qualitatively or leave it out. We do not estimate or invent numbers.
Prices
UK prices move constantly with sales and stock. We show an indicative price, such as “around £100 (checked Oct 2026)”, and link to the retailer for the current price. A price here is never a live or guaranteed price.
Rankings
Rankings reflect published specifications, price against features and fit for a stated use (space, budget, goal, experience). Affiliate commission does not affect them; see the affiliate disclosure and the editorial policy.
